Sowing & growing

Sow indoors Mar-Apr, or in-situ in May. Surface sow onto moist seed compost. Cover with a fine layer of compost or vermiculite. Keep at 20-25°C for germination and ensure soil is kept damp. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle and grow on. Acclimatise young plants before planting out 30cm apart when risk of frost has passed.

Aftercare

Prefers full sun in well-drained, fertile soil. Pinch out the growing tip of young plants for bushier growth. Stems may require support.
