Sowing & growing
Sow indoors during Feb-Apr in good quality seed compost, cover lightly with a thin layer. Germination takes 1-2 weeks at 10-15 C. When large enough to handle prick out the seedlings into individual pots or 5cm apart in trays. Harden off before planting outside once all risk of frost has passed, spacing 60cm apart. Can also be sown directly outside from April, 10mm deep and thin to 60cm apart removing weakest seedlings.
Aftercare
Seedlings may need protection from birds with netting or fleece. Harvest lowest sprouts first by cutting with asharp knife.
