Flowers
Callistephus 'Duchesse Apricot'
China Aster
With long stems and soft, Chrysanthemum-like blooms, this half-hardy annual makes an excellent addition to the flower vase and a superb choice for cutting gardens. China Aster grow well in a sunny border, in rich soil. They flower all summer and into the autumn, when many summer flowers have long since faded.

Growing calendar
Sowing & growing
Sow inside Feb-April or outdoors April-May. If starting inside, surface sow in trays or pots of good seed compost and store at 16-18°C until germination occurs. When large enough, transplant the seedlings and grow on. Plant outside when frosts have passed. Sow outdoors 6mm deep in finely raked soil.
Aftercare
Should be kept well-watered but not waterlogged. Regular cutting of flowers will encourage more throughout growing season.
