Growing calendar
Sowing & growing
Sow under glass Mar-May, 12mm deep in seed trays of good seed compost. Transplant into modules when large enough to handle and plant outside when 12-15 cm tall. Alternatively sow where they are to grow Apr-Jun in well-prepared, fertile soil. Add mulch to reduce the need for watering. Do not grow Cabbages in same area two years running.
Aftercare
Protect against bird and insect attack by covering with fleece or netting. Use cabbage collars to protect from root fly.
