Sowing & growing

Sow indoors Mar-May or outdoors from May-Jun. Sow 3 seeds vertically, 1cm deep, per 8cm pot of moist, seed compost. Keep at 20°C for germination. Thin out to strongest seedling per pot and grow on at cooler temperatures of about 15°C, keeping young plants protected from direct sunlight. If growing outside in sheltered spot acclimatise before planting when risk of frost has passed.

Aftercare

Cucumbers benefit from thorough watering. Start feeding once first two fruits have started growing. Harvest cucumbers when they are young and tender.
