A magnet for bees and other pollinators. Covered in blue, globe-shaped flowerheads, this tall eye-catching perennial of Mediterranean origins loves full sun and free draining soil. Sowing & growing

Sow undercover from Feb-May, or Aug-November for plants the following year. Sow seeds to a depth of 2mm in a deep seed tray or modules into well drained seed compost. Sow 30mm apart. Keep warm for germination. Prick out seedlings and grow on in individual pots. Spring-sown plants can be planted out after frosts have passed, Autumn-sown plants should be grown on and planted out the following year.

Aftercare

After first flush of flowers, cut back flower stems to base of plant to encourage more late-season flowers.
