Eschscholzia californica 'Peach Sorbet'

California Poppy

RHS Plants for Pollinators

A complete contrast to the common bright orange California Poppy. Producing masses of dusky, peachy-cream double or semi-double double flowers above delicate ferny green foliage. An excellent choice for gardens with poor dry soils as they thrive in these conditions.

Sowing & growing

Sow outside from March-May directly where you would like them to grow. Spread seed thinly into a very shallow pre-watered drill. Cover with a very fine covering of soil and firm down. Keep the seed bed moist until the seedlings emerge. Once germinated thin out to roughly 30cm apart.

Aftercare

Allow to self-seed for following year. Surplus seedlings are easy to pull up.
