Sowing & growing
Sow Mar-May directly into shallow pre-watered drills where they are to flower and cover very lightly. Thin to 30cm once seedlings have emerged. Alternatively sow inside Aug-Nov. Press seed onto the surface of well-drained compost and cover very lightly with vermiculite. Keep moist but not too wet. Fluctuating temperatures aid germination, do not use a propagator. Transplant into final position in May-Jun.
Aftercare
Regular deadheading will prolong flowering. Leave some seedheads at the end of the season if you would like them to self-seed.
