Ipomoea 'Heavenly Blue'
Morning Glory
This vigorous climber also known as Morning Glory is excellent in a sheltered, sunny site. The twining stems quickly scramble up supports, developing mid-green, heart-shaped leaves. From summer- to autumn, the foliage is also smothered by a continuous stream of large, sky-blue flowers, each lasting just one day.

Sowing & growing
Soak seeds for 48 hours before sowing. Sow outdoors May-Jun. Sow 1mm deep, into a well-prepared seedbed, raked to a fine tilth. Thin out seedlings to 30cm apart. Sow under cover March-May, 3mm deep in moist seed compost. Germinate at 20°C in propagator or sunny windowsill. Plant out when risk of frost has passed.
Aftercare
This climber requires support such as a trellis, wigwam or pergolas, as these vigorous plants can cover a large area in one season. May self-seed, so deadhead regularly if you do not want it to spread.
