Sowing & growing

Soak seeds for 2 days before planting. Sow inside 5-10mm deep. Seeds require 20-30°c to germinate, start off in a propagator or sealed polythene bag on a windowsill. Be patient, can take 3-4 weeks to germinate. Prick out to individual pots when large enough to handle. Harden off and transplant to final position 50cm apart after the frosts have passed.

Aftercare

Cut down faded flower spikes, then water and feed to get a second flush of blooms.
