Forget-Me-Not

RHS Plants for Pollinators

Forget me nots is an easy to grow biennial. Will flower the following spring into early summer. Clusters of pale blue flowers sit above a mound of mid green foliage. Flowers are loved by bees. Great companion amongst late-spring bulbs such as Tulips and gives a good coverage of bare soil before summer planting takes over.

Sowing & growing

Sow under cover April-June. Sow onto the surface of seed compost in trays and lightly cover. Seeds require warmth of 20 °C to germinate well. Transplant to individual pots or modules once seedlings are large enough to handle. Plant out to final position in late summer to early autumn, 20-30cm apart.

Aftercare

If left to go to seed, will self-seed freely and return in subsequent years. Scatter seeds whilst pulling up old plants.
