Tropaeolum 'Peach Melba' (Nasturtium)

Nasturtium

RHS Plants for Pollinators

A Nasturtium with a mounding habit and creamy yellow flowers with orange markings. The leaves and flowers of this annual are edible with a peppery flavour. The flowers look beautiful added to salads. Nasturtiums make useful companion plants, as they loved by pollinators, and will help attract white fly away from crops such as melons, cucumbers and tomatoes.

Sowing & growing

Sow under glass March to April or sow directly where it is to flower from May to July. Sow 2 cm deep and plants 20 cm apart. For sowings inside transplant into individual pots when large enough to handle. Acclimatise before planting out 20-30 cm apart.

Aftercare

Water deep once a week rather than daily, deadhead regularly to extend the flowering season.
