Baby Blue Eyes

RHS Plants for Pollinators

Baby Blue Eyes is easy to grow. Its carpeting habit provides fantastic ground cover. Being only 20cm tall, it is suited for edging borders and paths, as well as in rock gardens. Perfect for growing in large areas in dappled shade under trees, but also happy in full sun or spilling over the side of a pot. Loved by pollinators.

Sowing & growing

Sow where it is to grow March-May or Sep-Oct, 2-5mm deep, in a well-draining, weed free seedbed. Keep rows 15 cm apart but try sowing in curved rows, which often looks more pleasing. Water well and keep moist during germination. Autumn sowings will produce early flowers the following year April-May.

Aftercare

Water the young plants well until established. Deadhead to encourage more flowers.
