Sowing & growing

Sow under glass in March-May. Cover with a light sprinkling of compost. Propagate at 18°C and keep soil moist. Germination can be slow and seeds may need exposure to temperatures of -4°C-+4°C to break seed dormancy. When large enough to handle transplant seedlings. Acclimatise before planting out 30 cm apart. Can be sown directly Aug-Nov for flowering following year. In harsh Winters protect with a cloche.

Aftercare

Flowering period can be further extended by regular cutting of flowers and seedheads.
