Sow under cover from Dec-Apr and lightly cover with sieved seed compost or vermiculite. Keep at 14-15°C for germination. Harden off from early April before planting out. Alternatively sow direct outside Apr-May, 10mm deep in shallow drills for smaller onions.

Ensure moist enriched soil, onions are hungry.
