Sowing & growing
Feb-April, surface sow in trays of moist, well-drained seed compost under glass. Place trays in propagator or cover with polythene bag to aid germination. Propagate at temperatures of 18-20°C. Transplant seedlings and acclimatise young plants before planting out when risk of frost has passed. Sow seed where they are to flower April-June.
Aftercare
Pinch out the growing tips of young plants to encourage bushy growth. Keep well-watered and fertilise regularly. Water from base to discourage crown rot.
