Sowing & growing

Direct sow April-June, or under cover Feb-April in trays of moist, well-drained seed compost. Surface sow, and keep at 18-20°C for germination. Placing trays in a propagator should aid germination. Transplant seedlings when large enough. Young plants benefit from gentle acclimatisation to outdoor temperatures before planting out when risk of frost has passed.

Aftercare

Enjoys moist and fertile soil, so water and feed regularly. Deadheading should encourage more blooms.
