Salad Rocket
An annual salad leaf with serrated leaves and a delicious peppery taste. Quick to establish, even in cold soil. Sow and harvest outside Apr-Sep. From Oct-March, grow on a sunny windowsill, under a cloche or cold frame, or in a greenhouse for winter harvests.

Growing calendar
Sowing & growing
Sow under glass Oct-Mar into pots, modules or seed trays. Can be sown in cropping position outside Apr-Sep. Sow 6mm deep, 3cm apart, in rows 40cm apart. Thin seedlings to 20 cm apart by removing weaker seedlings. Keep well-watered during hot, dry weather. Protect with horticultural fleece to prevent attacks from flea beetles. Late outdoor sowings may need protection from early autumn frosts with fleece.
Aftercare
Cut leaves rather than pulling them from the plant to avoid disturbing shallow roots.
