Harvest
Sowing & growing
Sow outside where it is to grow March-July in well-prepared, weed-free, fertile soil. Sow heavily in shallow drills 1.5cm deep and 50cm apart, 30cm between rows. Thin seedlings to 10-15cm apart. Water well during dry spells to prevent bolting. Good crop to grow in semi shade as heat also causes bolting. Suitable for succession sowing.
Aftercare
Water at base of plants to help prevent mildew. Pick leaves regularly to encourage fresh growth.
