Sowing & growing

Sow under glass Oct-April. Soak seeds in water for 24 hours prior to sowing to aid germination. Sow in deep trays, pots or root trainers, 1cm deep, and propagate at 20-25°C. Grow seedlings on in cooler temperatures and acclimatise before planting out when risk of frost has passed. Sow outdoors April-May in flat drills, 2.5cm deep, 8cm apart. Pinch out the top once the 2nd set of leaves appear to encourage side shoots.

Aftercare

Make sure plant has support so it can climb. Deadhead and cut flowers regularly, which will prolong the flowering season.
