Harvest
Sowing & growing
Sow thinly Feb-Jun roughly 10-15mm apart, seeds should be 6mm deep in drills 15cm apart in well drained fertile soil. No thinning is required for salad onions. If you wish to keep some as maincrops, harvest alternative young onions leaving the remaining onions space to fill out and mature. Best grown in full sun and kept well-watered.
Aftercare
Use salad onions fresh from the garden, the maincrop onions can be dried and will store well in a cool dark dry place.
