Zinnia elegans 'Purple Prince'
Zinnias
Adding late-season colour to a border, this easy-to-grow, vigorous annual inexpensively fills a space and provides lots of flowers for cutting. The more you cut and deadhead, the more flowers it produces. It prefers to grow in full sun and will bloom from July to October.

Flowering
Sowing & growing
Sow inside in March-April, ideally in modules or pots to avoiding disturbing the roots when pricking out and planting. Place in 15-25°C. for germination. Acclimatise for a few weeks before planting out 20-25cm apart once all risk of frost has passed. You can also sow them where they are to flower April-May, 3mm deep in well prepared soil. Keep watered.
Aftercare
Remove spent blooms and cut regularly to extend the flower period.
